SMALL DOGS – An Overview
There are many different types and breeds of Small Dogs, each have their own unique characteristics and traits. Each dog has their own character, but generally most dogs of any given breed may have more similarities regarding behaviour and personality. Although Small Dog Breeds are often thought of as highly strung and yappy, this isn’t always true, as long as the dog is trained and cared for correctly and given lots of love and attention. Small Dogs may not adjust quite as well to young children and toddlers, but they are great with older children and families, and are very loyal and protective. Generally, small dog breeds are about ten inches at the shoulder. In most breeds, the male is slightly larger than the female, but the difference is generally small.
No matter who you are, there is a type of Small Dog that will fit easily to your lifestyle and with a heart big enough to 
fill your days with joy. It’s extremely easy to love small dogs, and one of their great advantages is that they don’t take up too much room, and will not eat you out of house and home. But there are other, numerous reasons why a small dog is one of the best types of dog you can have in your life. If necessary, Small Dogs can easily be carried from place to place, and are easier to fit in the home as well. When out for a walk a Small Dog can’t pull you over, Small Dogs are easier to get in and out of the car, they only need small beds or kennels to be comfortable. Little Dogs are ideal for homes that are smaller and more compact, but at the same time are perfect for people with larger homes. In a larger house, and/or backyard, even a pair of small dogs, (preferably of the same 
breed), could be considered, they would have their own company and occupy themselves for most of the time. When you consider the wide range of Small Dog Breeds to choose from – Terriers, Spaniels, Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Pugs, Dachshunds, etc, it seems impossible not to find one that is just right for your needs and preferences. There are many other small dog breeds available so you need to know exactly what you’re looking for. You need to make sure that any new dog, whether small or not fits in with your family, your living space and lifestyle.
